We are gonna start small here and build up since there has been a serious lack of posting recently. I keep saying it, but I mean to change that. First off we are going to go in with what I will call the best song of 2009.
Jay Electronica - Exhibit C
This is what hip hop is about right here. People are claiming that this dude is the "saviour" of hip hop and whatnot and maybe he is with tracks like this. I can't get enough of this beat and his rhymes are spot on. I can only dream about hearing a full length or the constantly delayed mixtape that is supposed to have dropped exactly one month ago on Christmas.
Next up is the most promising find of 2009.
Apparatjik - Electric Eye
Add it up, Mew + Coldplay + A-Ha, you can't go wrong. It took me a few listens but I just absolutely can't get this out of my head. It doesn't overly sound like any of the aforementioned bands but it has a more electronic Mew feel to me. I for some reason can fully get behind that. If they put out a record in 2010 it will guaranteed be in the top 10. I sound like a fanboy I know, but what are ya gonna do? I just need more from them.
