Summer!

One of the real signs of summer is getting my hands on some fresh picked strawberries. Well, actually going out and picking them is what I meant. These gems got picked yesterday and found their way into strawberry tarts, strawberry lime and vanilla jam as well as the freezer for smoothies. I will have to pick more soon and put them to many more uses. Very stoked.
The strawberry tarts were part of a bday party catering gimmick amongst other things. Let's just say that as long as my little bro Mac is down with my cupcakes I'm a happy man.

I have been waiting for so long to get my hands on some corn tamales etc and today was finally that day. I could eat 20 of them a day, true story.

SMOKE!

It's been a long time comin and I have slacked on getting this up here but finally my summer life is reaching it's full potential and you are now aware of it, along with that long sentence. Here is my baby cookin up some corn and tofu.
Here's the rundown: apple wood smoked corn on the cob, tofu marinated in apple butter BBQ sauce and grilled along with smoke from the apple wood and basted with every turn along with mac n teese with homemade tofu bacon.
I'm not sure how I lived without a charcoal grill for this long. The next thing I'm not sure of is how I didn't know about electric charcoal starters. Best Thing Ever. Just puttin this out there, I use natural charcoal because I love the environment.
