One Year And Counting

Today was Mac's first bday party. His actual day may have been on Wednesday and he may have had two parties, but regardless here we are. The little guy lucked out and has a mom that can make next level cakes. Here is the first example, and yes it's vegan.
Mac also got a little cake all to himself.
Hmmmmmm...what should I do with my cake?
BOOM just like that it's all over the place and his face and the floor and my pants and hoodie!
Happy bday little guy and many more happy ones.

A Little Pizza Heaven

That isn't so much of a pun in the title as it is the name of the pizza place where my boy Ryley works and I vistited this evening. We made up a little vegan pizza. Here it is: BBQ tofu, pineapple, red onion, spinach, mushrooms, mozza and cheddar Teese vegan cheese.
A good meal and a good chat was a nice touch to the day. Now sleep comes.

MPLS Getaway

So a little trip to MPLS happened and it was supposed to entail a little stop in Fargo to pick up JD and head to a Twolves game. Neither of those happened but that didn't stop a good time from taking place. Here is what Vince hooked it up with.
Correct, you most likely haven't seen that before and I'm running out of that magic and not sure what I'm gonna do when I'm out! Have you ever seen a treehouse before? Did you ever build one as a kid or admire one you saw and just wish you could go hang out in it for a bit. Well not far away from Vegan Eric's crib is a time machine back to anyone's youth...the craziest treehouse of them all!!!
Twolves game didn't happen so we chilled at Grumpy's...apparently they have the kewl shirts there. Jeremy "approves".
Next day before departing we hit Hard Times Cafe. It had been quite a while since I had graced this place with my presence. The pancake hasn't gotten any smaller...unless Vegan Eric visited the headshrinker from Beetlejuice.
Here is some vegan helter skelter aka hashbrowns, veggies tofu and toast.
Another angle of lots of bang for your buck.
Oh there is the vegan sausage.
A fun weekend and not many pictures. A top 10 of 2008 soon, sometimes you get busy and tired. Worst combo. Have a good weekend.

Wildcard Weekend

The NFL playoffs have arrived and it was about time to get back to eating some great food. Chill and I put our heads together and came up with a nice little football meal. We started off with a greens dressed with maple balsamic vinaigrette, caramelized pears and candied cashews.
That was followed by roasted sweet potato curry coconut soup served with roasted red pepper, onion, garlic and thyme bread.
Sounds like a good football meal to me. Not pictured here is what followed the next morning...pear infused candied cashew pancakes with chocolate sauce and syrup. A great weekend.

Mandatory Post

I know it's a bit late, but here is to another year past and a new year ahead. All the best to everyone and always look for big things. My new years was pretty chill since I was hurt and spent it relaxing. Here is about as wild as it got at my crib.I apparently own a 3M jays hat, who knew?

Country Christmas

A quick little recap on a relaxing xmas trip back home to the family. It all started off with the spreading of a little cheer. Tara and the crack.
Ummm...what's the matter?
The hardbody getting a swift kick, a dangerous picture and a Christmas miracle all in one.
A long day ending with a nice little family gathering.
Quality time spent with the fam before I departed.
Hope yours was good.

One Year Ago

So...about a year ago a wonderful fellow named Will Bratt came to Winnipeg and a bunch of us went to DV for a meal. If you look back in time you may find some recollection of said event. Well a year has passed and it was once again time to head to DV for a meal with the man himself, some friends, some people I have never met before and other people that I don't talk to. Here are Sarde, Pre Party Dave and Mr. Bratt.
Just like last year, it's my new classic small meal. Spicy peanut noodle soup w/ tofu.
It's always a pleasure seeing this dude and I'm glad he made it into town this year. Hopefully we cross paths sooner than a year from now at DV.
